There’s a reason you’re here.

Let’s find it together.

Afterglow Mindset

Rooted Mental Health & Integrative Care

Sometimes, you can't quite put your experience into words, but you know something isn’t right.

Maybe you're exhausted, no matter how much rest you get.
Maybe your mind is always racing or shutting down entirely.
Maybe your body feels persistently tense, as if always bracing for something.
Maybe your motivation has vanished, leaving you feeling stuck and unsure why.
Maybe you've learned to hide it well, so no one sees how much effort it truly takes just to move forward.

You've tried coping. You've pushed through. You've done everything you're supposed to do. But something still isn’t connecting. You still feel "off."

That doesn't mean you're broken.
It means your care needs a deeper, more intuitive approach.

Afterglow Mindset offers personalized, virtual mental health care for Minnesota residents.

Questions?

  • Fill out the contact form above and we will reach out to you with next steps.

  • No. Afterglow Mindset is a fully self-pay practice. We do not participate in insurance networks and do not complete prior authorizations.

You’re welcome to request a superbill to submit for possible reimbursement, but coverage is not guaranteed and depends on your plan. Superbills are available after full payment for services.

  • No—I focus specifically on mental health and integrative support. I don’t provide routine primary care, physicals, or general medical services.

I strongly recommend having a dedicated primary care provider, and I’m happy to collaborate with them when appropriate.

  • Yes. Many patients choose to use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for care at Afterglow Mindset.

However, eligibility can vary by plan. You are responsible for confirming with your HSA/FSA provider whether mental health services at a cash-pay practice are covered under your specific plan.

If needed, I’m happy to provide a Superbill (a detailed receipt for potential reimbursement) after payment is made.

Please note: Acceptance of HSA/FSA cards does not guarantee reimbursement or approval by your plan.

  • Yes — when clinically appropriate.

We take a collaborative approach to psychiatric medication. If stimulant medication is considered, a separate consent form will be required.

  • Yes. We specialize in integrative psychiatric care for attention challenges, mood symptoms, burnout, and stress-related issues.

We’ll always discuss your goals and treatment options together.

  • No. This is not a replacement for therapy and Afterglow Mindset does not currently offer psychotherapy.

Afterglow Mindset offers medical care focused on mental health — including psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management when appropriate.

If you’re looking for traditional therapy, I’m happy to coordinate care with a licensed therapist.

  • While Afterglow Mindset does provide integrative mental health care, it is not intended to replace necessary and appropriate psychiatric care for any individuals navigating severe or complex psychiatric conditions.

  • No. I am a Physician Associate (PA-C) licensed to practice medicine independently in the state of Minnesota. I hold a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, a Master of Arts in Teaching and have completed the required 2,080 hours of supervised clinical practice, which has been formally declared to the state.

In accordance with Minnesota law, I maintain a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a licensed Minnesota physician. This agreement supports regulatory compliance but does not imply supervision — all care decisions are made independently and within my legal scope of practice.

I am trained and authorized to:

    • Diagnose and treat mental health conditions

    • Prescribe and manage medications, including controlled substances

    • Provide comprehensive, integrative care within my scope

If you have questions about qualifications, licensure, or training, you're always welcome to ask.

Hello! My name is Nathan (he/him), I’m a licensed Physician Associate (PA) in Minnesota and the founder of Afterglow Mindset.

I completed my Physician Assistant studies at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri in 2014. I also hold a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Missouri State University. I relocated with my family to the Twin Cities a few years ago in search of a more inclusive environment that better aligned with our values.

My husband and I have been together for over 10 years, and we have a 14-year-old kiddo whom we co-parent with their mom—who also happens to be my childhood best friend. Needless to say, Missouri just wasn’t the pot we were meant to grow in.

We’ve found so much more happiness and acceptance here, and Afterglow Mindset is a direct result of that. I look back now and don’t recognize the person I was back then—in the best way. I was stuck in routines, negative patterns, and just existing through life.

My mindset changed when we moved—not because I was different, but because I did something different to break out of that cycle.

You don’t have to move across the country to find your Afterglow Mindset. You just have to choose to do something a little different for yourself—and go from there.

When you feel ready to do something different for your mental health, just reach out. I look forward to connecting with you.
